The New Standard Measure In Global Financial Health
The Financial Health Score Whitepaper.
This research operationalises and extends the foundational frameworks established by the OECD/INFE, the World Bank, and the Financial Health Network (FHN), synthesising global methodologies into a singular, mathematically consistent standard for measuring personal financial health.
What is Financial Health?
Financial health is not wealth, income, or credit availability, rather the comprehensive measure of an individual’s financial position today and for the future. It considers all aspects of their financial life from cashflow and lifestyle choices to debt and responsibilities.
Existing financial metrics fail to provide a consistent, comparable and comprehensive measure:
Credit scores measure lender risk, not personal health. A credit score is an underwriting mechanism built to predict borrower default and creditworthiness for commercial lenders. An individual can maintain an excellent credit score while carrying high debt-to-income ratios, zero liquid emergency savings, and an unfunded pension.
Commercial financial health and wellness scores lack objective rigour. Most consumer financial scores rely on periodic self-reported questionnaires, subjective sentiment, or narrow product engagement metrics. Because methodologies vary dramatically and lack standardised calibration, their scores cannot be statistically compared across households, peer groups, or time horizons.
The Financial Health Score powered by Peasy
The Financial Health Score introduces a unified, continuous, and objective measurement standard:
Multi-dimensional balance sheet integration: Evaluates real-time data across five foundational pillars including Cashflow, Debt, Savings, Investments, and Pensions, into a unified 0–1,000 index.
Normative UK calibration: Calibrated against national economic distributions and verified UK benchmark datasets, enabling individuals to understand their exact percentile standing relative to the broader population.
Dynamic and objective: Moves beyond point-in-time surveys by continuously evaluating verified financial flows and structural balances, eliminating subjective bias and self-reporting discrepancies.
Universal comparability: Provides a consistent mathematical benchmark aligned to the guidelines and frameworks hypothesised by organisations such as OECD/INFE, the World Bank, and the Financial Conduct Authority; designed for consumers, financial institutions, and public policy research alike.
